For those that never dealt with little boys they are very proud of what they got and like to show it off what would the parents then say to that
"Eat it up.  Wear it out.  Make it do or do without."

Ah ok, sorry, couldn't understand the way it was phrased when I read it lol

If the kid has a penis and "shows it off" then that's up to him. If it's in public the I would discourage that anyway, whatever the child. And if it's when the parents aren't there, ie to other kids in school or something, then that's just something that's naturally gonna happen.

I think people are seeing all this as the parents trying to force something onto their child, whereas the parents are seeing it as trying to stop other influences being forced onto the child. I don't think it's really an issue if the kid does "show off" his penis (if they have one)

Also I don't think this is setting the kid up for an identity crisis at all. If anything, I think their identity will be more solid as they'lll be able to completely be themselves, rather than being (consciously or subconsciously) put into some kind of mold

Unless the kid is exceptionally strong-minded (and lives in a bubble), there will be a crisis of some sort.

Very few kids are unaffected by their surroundings. Most people will not care about the parents' decisions, be it other kids, the local GP or passers-by. Most kids are terrified of standing out in any way.

My 17 years at parenting confirm this, even with my spazzy boy.
