A perfectly cut Tourmaline is as sharp as a Knifes edge.
Elongated Emerald cut is the best option for this crystal.
Speaking of the emerald cut, why do people cut diamonds that way? I've seen celebrities'
rings with emerald- or tablet-cut diamonds, and the diamonds just look like dull pieces of glass.
I wonder why diamonds are so appealing? Nephrite Jade, Ruby and Fire Agate are all prettier IMO.
The reason why table cut diamonds look pretty dull and boring is because there are hardly any facets on the stone. (Which means that the diamond can't break up the light like it should. When you cut it into a round brilliant, I believe there are 52 facets but may contain as much as 108. given this, now a diamond looks fairly decent.) Fundamentally diamonds are more expencive because a cartel (the DeBeers) company has price fixed them. They only let out a few every year, and own 80% of the market. When you have this kind of control over a product you basically can ask anything for them. which is why they are so expencive, Its a false price fix point though. Carbon is like one of the most abundant elements on earth, (carbon is what makes a diamond) good marketing is also why diamonds are expensive, but the cartel could sell you beach sand if that was the in thing.
Colored gemstones are much more rarer and valueable than any diamond. Red gemstones are the rarest color, as Red is the hardest color for the Earth to produce. a lot of gems are rarer than diamonds, including fire agate. color change garnet, etc. I don't see the world ever changing its view on Diamonds anytime soon because they have been fed this lie for so long, they tend to believe it now.
