Ever notice how your mind can just change if you allow it to?
I have a newish cutting board from spring "card rewards" (used card points and chose this item) made of thin bamboo. Very clever design, I noticed right away, but I hated it, because it was thin and light.
Understand, I grew up with people who butchered livestock on the kitchen table. The cutting board was thick and heavy duty. In fact, if you had to change a tractor tire, the cutting board could be used to hold it up while you do.
This new cutting board seemed flimsy to me at first. I hated it. I have a variety of cutting boards for my own kitchen and mostly light, compared to my grandfather's chopping and cutting solutions.
But, now, after using it for a few months, I love it for the very same reasons I hated it when I first introduced myself to it.
I hated it because it was thin and light, now I love it because it is thin and light.
