The fact that my daughter's left the nest does not mean that she's suddenly immune to her OCD and no longer looking for assurances from me.
This. I'm at my wits end with the oldest. His is off the charts right now and combining that with his anxiety and work stress, it's constant questions. He can't seem to trust his own opinion about anything right now.  :(

It gets to be a bit much sometimes. I'm not about to give her the assurances she craves but therapy through text messages is a lot of work.
Same. We've been talking a lot about how he knows he has the skillset to answer these questions on his own but he doesn't like the feeling of anxiety so he wants someone else to answer it for him so it gets rid of the feeling quickly but that's not actually helping him.

The texting is a lot and it's amazing how much energy that can take.

I hear you. I'm in the same boat, I feel like I'm tethered to the phone some days now.
I think enough of us have reached the stage in life where we need a section just for the parenting struggles. lol

We have meetups on Thursdays. :P

I work from home, usually, which is great since I can start the day from the couch, answering email while drinking my morning coffee. This morning my wife decided to do the same. She had a conference call with someone, on the couch, when I got up.

My personal space has been violated. :P

Facebook is catching on to my digital nomad lifestyle, it seems. I get a lot of ads on various ways to enhance my productivity while on the road.

I went to an open house yesterday which I sort of liked. But the interior lighting was all weird. Instead of ceiling lights on the second level all the rooms had wall lights that were as dim as shit. Maybe it had something to do with the ceiling material itself, looked like some sort of panel instead of plasterboard.

So maybe that's the only way the lighting electrics could be done?

Kids driving their bikes on the wrong side of the road. Not a lot of traffic on that particular road but cars are bigger than bikes.

In Canada the police tell them to do that so that they can see the cars coming.

That's the rule here for pedestrians in the countryside. Not for people on bikes. Bikes are big part of traffic here. They have to follow the "regular" rules. And very often they will have their own paths or lanes to use.

Evidently. I guess they didn't want to put holes into their fancy ass cladding on the raked ceilings. It's probably only PVC.

I like having the house to myself first thing in the morning when it's quiet

The city next to mine is like that. Not always easy to navigate

It sucks, but it's still 1000 times better than NYC it's been almost two years since I had to go there for work

Agreed. I almost moved there in 1995. I like to visit from time to time but that's about it.

I only drove in NYC once, and it was a miserable experience.
