The house still smells of knieperties. Different recipe than Wikipedia gives, and better of course, handed down from my grandmother, and enhanced by daughter and me.
In the distance some people are setting off some last bits of fireworks. The year is getting back to relative silence after yesterday night.
Do like the days of, but will not mind the world getting back to something like normal come Tuesday.

They look a bit like the Pizzelles here. About the same ingredients too, I used to do big batches of different flavors (lemon, orange, vanilla, anise, & choc) every Christmas/New Years.

Why can't I ever be left alone in this chair?

Because I find you irresistible?

This year we made three batches. Lemon, mineola/cinnamon and lime/cardamom knieperties. Anise and vanilla are common flavours here too. And there is a darker variation with rye flour that is really nice. Some people roll them, others serve them flat, or do both. I hardly ever roll them.

They are.

@ IQ, we were discussing a choc variety here, and were wondering if the cocoa would not get burned too much. Do you put cocoa powder in the dough or something else?
Also, I'd like to try a dark sugar and coffee variation next time I make them.
And maybe roll that one and serve it filled with cream.

Yesterday I partied by proxy.  My cab home smelled like beer, and my building
smelled like the marijuana my downstairs neighbor was smoking.  :stoned:

Not sure I'd call them active, but yeah, he tended to forget his login details.

Poor Randy.

We just had a plumber inspect a water leak in the old heating.

We just added cocoa until it looked "right".

This sounds about right, with the added extra of espresso powder.  :o

Listening to a radio DJ asking how people pack for vacations, and a woman comes on and says her husband starts packing six weeks before, decides the clothes are wrong, repacks, then decides the suitcase is the wrong size, then maybe not enough gadgets, then the suitcase is wrong and maybe they need a new one...

This is how I pack (gadgets and power cords are important!) - wonder if it's a guy thing. Py throws a bunch of clothing in a suitcase, a bag with bathroom stuff and packs her backpack with art stuff and a change of clothes and she's done in a single night.

Suitcases and backpacks are gadgets. My current backpack has 11 pockets. Haven't been tempted to buy another since I got it.
