I wouldn't want to be in your shoes this year.
Watching the great overseas from afar. Thinking that the experiment failed.
Yeah, and all because of an egotistical narcissistic failed business con man
You could still turn it around. Hoping you will.
We need proportional representation, not that single-winner ranked choice bullshit most activists are talking about these days, starting on the local level so that third party candidates can gain some campaigning skills and also learn some fucking maturity as candidates and possibly even representatives (two things
sorely lacking in the third partiers that I've met) also to build some familiarity with folks to transition up to the state then the federal level. And think we also need to look beyond the presidential or even the parliamentary system. We're frankly too divided as a country for a single head of state/head of government to be functional. We need an executive directory, kinda like Switzerland only ours would be directly elected. A swing state like Michigan would probably be the best place to trial such an innovation. However Detroit, where I live, is decidedly Democratic. Which, don't get me wrong, better them than the republicans, but it's a little more complicated to make the arguments I need to on the local level in such a case.
