Watched a documentary series on netflix about adults on the spectrum dating. What annoyed me is the typical infantilised depiction of the people themselves, in a "oh, look at how kooky and cute are they for doing normal people things!" kind of way rather than showing their individuality or personalities in any real way. Even the music was typical tinkly, ukulele baby music.
I get that some autistic people need more help than others, and I'm sure it's not the intention of the people who made it, but it just comes off as being rather patronising as a whole regardless.
