Not sure if it's just tinnitus but I hear a rumbling that sounds like machinery in the distance

That wouldn't be tinnitus.  We heard it as well, though sometimes, it's the big tanker jet from the nearby Air Force/Air National Guard Base in Newington NH, circling overhead.

His shirt said:   "You can't scare me.  I have daughters."   I love that one. I would need a singular version.
