The crazy lady that caused the lockdown at the capitol was from my hometown

Poor deluded lady, and now dead.

Did you know her?

I was under the impression that Boehner caused the locked down. He's from my hometown.  :thumbdn:

Someone unfriended me on facebook. I want to care, but I can't remember who they were.

Someone unfriended me on facebook. I want to care, but I can't remember who they were.

I got unfriended--and blocked, no less--by someone who reposted a story she'd heard somewhere, claiming it was the events of a particular classroom somewhere, and that it disproved socialism.  No professor was named.  No students were named.  No school was named.  No dates were provided.  No source was cited.  So I called her out, told her it proved nothing and meant nothing and that I'd be embarrassed to have posted it.  Okay, maybe coming on a little strong.  But she responded with, "So don't read it then!"  So, am I forbidden to read things that I disagree with now, if people post them right there in the public where anyone can read them?

You should have responded with: It wasn't until I read it that I realised it was something I didn't want to read.

False alarm. They didn't unfriend me. They just deleted a comment, and when I couldn't find them I thought they left the scene. But they returned. I wonder why they deleted the comment?

Who says I don't want to read it?  There's a chance, a small one, that someone who disagrees with me may have a decent point to make.  But an anecdote that you don't even know happened isn't a point, it's just rambling bullshit.  If you say that you were there, I'll believe that it happened to you.  Talk is cheap, especially on the internet, but I'll grant you that much.  But if it's something you reposted from someone else, that's been going around since forever?  I want to see documentation.

I could not find the random observation thread, a while ago.
It was hidden from me, in plain sight.

Debris washed down from up the river, must be rains out east.... I saw a deer carcass wash up as well. Good pickins for the buzzards.
