You used to look after someone else's dogs. Did they pay you? Why don't you do it anymore?

I was paid only occasionally, mostly in the last year, after I told them it was becoming too much for me.
I quit because I was tired of living out of a duffel bag for a week at a time in their houses, tired of the
barking, tired of cleaning up the yard after all those dogs, and I was just ready to retire from it.  :nicegear:

Yeah, they did sometimes buy me stuff or take me to dinner, but on the whole my time was cheap.
But I loved the dogs.  I still do.  I just prefer to spend my downtime in the comfort of my home.  :nicegear:

What did you study in college?

I started out as an English major, but switched to the less demanding "liberal studies" major
because it was the only way to complete my graduation requirements on schedule after years of
slacking off and failing courses due to laziness and lack of focus.  My parents wasted their money.  :-[

I guess you didn't like it that much there? Did you make friends?

I ended up graduating a year after I could have all because I failed Program Evaluation which was easily the most boring subject I ever studied. It wasn't even like a Psychology unit.

I actually loved living on campus and having a regular social life for the first time.  But I wasn't
motivated to do the work.  I wonder how I would have done if I'd been on ADD meds.  Oh well.  :tard:

And I understand about failing boring subjects.  I can't even learn card games because they bore me!

For me it's chess. To me it is boring as can be. Even with ADHD meds.

Me too. Used to play a lot when I was younger.

I have quite a few chess sets and more than enough chess books to donate.  Just need to find some school or other to give them to.  Hopefully, chess is something that hasn't been engulfed by computers yet.  Yes, PA did play chess programs on the computer.

I don't think so.  The only computer chess he played was a download I got for him.  It was fairly ordinary.  I did try to interest him in 3D chess, but he wouldn't let me buy him a board because he said he wasn't that good.

Computers are better at chess than humans, but it's been years since I last played against a human.
