Autism runs in two sides of my family. Insanity in only one side. I was not afraid of the people who got institutionalised, not at all, but the thought that I might get as anxious as them did scare me.
Especially my favourite great aunt. She was such a scared bird, but such a sweet thing too. The affection was mutual. Sometimes she could barely remember names, so stuck in her own frightening world, but she would remember the name of me as a 10 year old. And she would smile.
My oldest inherited her way of stimming. So, she's still around in a way.

When she started dementing, she finally became a happy woman. Going back so far in her system that all the shit that scared her disappeared.

What did I learn out of it?

No use to run away from the chances that are there in the family. You have to live your life, and do it as good as you can.
Helped, when I gave up being afraid of things like getting insane or getting cancer. When it happens you have to deal with it, but only then.

I've considered suicide off and on for years. My teenager, who recently quit cutting, is in therapy and has considered suicide. She was, and still is to some degree in HS, bullied a lot in MS. She dies her hair purple, is very artistic, wears black eyeliner, has a pierced eye, and dresses goth and in other less "normal" ways. Girls were terrible to her, calling her slut and shit like that. Her mother is controlling too and insults her.
Crazy, I'm halfway to crazy
Suicide would waste me
Homicide would break me
Tongue tied and tied to the tongue
Tongue tied and tied to the tongue
Oh, is life as bad as dreams
I guess that's just the way it seems

Try to be nice/good towards others.. because trying to do so 'gives'.. I, naively/maybe so, believe to be true.

Wishing 'ill' (-ness) to others might harm you more than..

Do not buy bedroom drapes with fringe on them from the reduced aisle in Walmart.

The bedroom now resembles a whore house.

SO seems to really like them though...maybe he'll start leaving me a tip. :zoinks:

Cut your losses.  Salvage what you can.  If it's too late in the day to do everything you should have done,
do half, or a quarter, or something.  For a chronic procrastinator with a perfectionistic, all-or-nothing
mentality, day after day of doing 50% of what "should" be done could add up to a lot of progress.  :apondering:

Never put crocheted blankets in the wash at the same time as your sheets. I used up a whole roll of lint removal sheets trying to get all the red fuzz off the green sheets, and it still looks like Christmas when I unfold them the wrong way.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.

I heard a 13 year-old boy say something similar to me once.  I believed the lesson was as relevant to him as it is to you now.

If you're going through menopause and having night sweats, an all polyester comforter
on the bed will make things a whole lot worse.  Get rid of it and use the cotton one, fool!  :hahaha:
