Indeed. The newsbox is SERIOUS BUSINESS!

The Aspie organizer in me wants a single spot - possibly over-reaching but those in charge can tell me to  :STFU: if they don't like it.

* What do the different colored names mean?
* What is an Elder?
* Who are the Admins and Mods?
* Why are there so many "guest" posts?
That is probably a good enough start.  Thanks in advance  :zoinks:

--- End quote ---

* What do the different colored names mean?
Black means normal member. Purple means elder. Orange means that they are featured in in the newsbox in the top right of the screen. Blue means they are the newsbox editor, and dark orange means they are a mod.

* What is an Elder?
Someone who has over 500 posts and has been invited to be an elder.

* Who are the Admins and Mods?
Odeon is the Head honcho. Callaway, Parts and Renaedon are the mods. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone.

* Why are there so many "guest" posts?
In the past, way before I was here they used to allow guests to post. I think that's the right answer :laugh:

What is a Newsbox Feature?

Somebody who is spoken about in the newsbox, I think.

--- End quote ---

Callaway, parts and renaeden are administrators. I am Modulator (which is like a moderator, but less serious).

There are so many guest posts because anyone who has ever had an account deleted is listed as a guest. You can see this if you look at the posts of former members.

Aren't you still the Newsbox Slave, Butterflies? Shouldn't you "know" what a Newsbox Feature is? :P

--- End quote ---

I am, but I don't know anything about "newsbox feature." I don't think I can change the colour of anybodies name. I think only the mods can change it.

--- Quote from: Jack on March 22, 2011, 08:08:51 PM ---Thought the admins are red; maybe my screen. Can't remember what's yellow and there's another blue for the highway modulator. Guests could also be closed accounts.

--- End quote ---

Probably red then. This monitor is very old. Don't think I've ever noticed a yellow name.

What is the news box?  The box with the jokes?

--- End quote ---

Yup, I'm in charge of it, although I've just about run out of ideas, so if anybody else fancies a shot I'd have no problem with them taking over.

Maybe we aren't talking about the same thing?

If it is a box of jokes how is one "featured"?

I believe that the colors change with the theme that a member is using.
