We actually have 17 hours already here on the west coast now at the end of May. They have 21 hours in northern Lappland now and will have 24 hours of daylight around midsummer.

That's like Alaska. I saw an episode of Insomniac with Dave Attell where they were fishing at midnight in a river in Alaska. The sun was shining through the whole episode.

In principle, it's never quite dark even down here around midsummer, if the sky is clear. It's like the light shortly after sunset or shortly before sunrise those hours when the sun isn't up. I love the Nordic summerlight.
