If it is any comfort to you, European countries have some daft politicians too. Not all get worldwide footage, but that does not mean they are non existent. And people who will vote for them are around, in all their annoyingness.

Not to kill the thread, but the dude has been using rhetoric that's scary-similar to what Hitler used.  He's running on a platform of divisiveness, hate, and fear.

I honestly think he would be uniquely bad for the country- he'd do genuine harm to the US, and he'd fuck up our foreign relations even worse than they already are.  (Except he and Kim Jong-un could be drinking buddies, as I've heard pointed out).

We've got Geert Wilders. And he is getting scaringly popular in the polls. His hair is as bewildering as is Trumps hair. And the way he talks about Moroccan people is not that different from the way Trump talks about Mexicans.

Mr Wilders talked about a patriotic spring the other day. Would happen in the Netherlands and the USA.
Today I read he will have a revolution happening if he will not be made prime minister when getting 40% of the votes.
Not sure how reliable the news source about the latter, but it somehow does fit his rhetoric style. And quite a few of his voters will want to go for it.
