Why are we having this discussion? Instead of treating her like a normal girl, members replying to this thread are either insulting her for something that is beyond her control or praising her for doing things that normal people do every day. It's patronizing, and it is disturbingly similar to the way that many neurotypicals treat autistics they don't personally know.

How is it patronising to praise a little girl for having such a mature attitude in the face of what let's face it IS going to be a lot of adversity?

IMO that is how you would treat a child her age , you praise them when they have done something right , shown a level of maturity etc.

IMO she is not doing something normal people do every day.   Most normal people i know wouldn't go out the house looking like that!  I am an adult and i couldn't handle that so i think she is very brave considering she is only eleven.  I don't think anyone intended to be patronising,  and the only reason i posted it was because her attitude puts a lot of people to shame.

If people want to have freak circuss they should. In my book it read about bleeding hearts runing the profit off the freaks! some of them actually made
money off their disfigurements. Now what do we do with freaks of nature? I know! let higher authorties have their own freak shows in the guinessbook of world records.
