Fun fact, the human gene pool isn't even as diverse as the rest of the primates. We're actually a really simple species, genetically speaking.

No need to be embarassed about that man. Its a perfectly reasonable thing to think. And it will likely happen like that too. Once there is undeniable proof of other intelligent being on other planets, religion will cease to exist and we can focus on the things that actually make a shit.
