They don;t actually get that much aid

Also it often has to go through incredibly corrupt govts/leaeders

Plus it's not just money that's the problemo

No they don't get much compared to other countries but all the money in the world will not fix it until they can change for themselves.  You can't force change at the point of a gun as is being tried elsewhere with little success and pouring trillions of dollars in there will get you nothing also.

nuke them?

you shouldnt throw that around east and west, you sound like a hillbilly american.

first of all, you cant nuke all of africa.
not even the entire collected nuclear arsenal would cover all of africa.

secondly, it wouldt kill all of africa, it would make it full of leukemia. how would that make it better? now they'd just want MORE aid, and we'd be super-responsible, having just nuked them all.

African poverty = our cheap computers.
African chemicals and raw materials are shipped out of that continent for almost free, the miners work near-naked. it costs nothing.
It then goes to asia, which manufacture stuff, in chop-shops, also cheap.
then we get all our nice stuff.

Thats the dilemma here.
They arent useless cus theyre black.
Theyre useless cus we all need them to.
We _actually_ send special forces down there to topple governments. Which one of us? I bet we all had our turn. Probably several times.
We simply will not allow for africa to gain any economical power, cus that would mean riots in the west, and we cant have that.

and its not "guilttrippery" either, its just truth. like, any other truth that sortof sucks if you wanna think about it.
just dont nuke the blackies, they have enough problems :D

Executive Outcomes proved that you can have some progress if you go in with elite troops who kick ass and take names.

They stabilized Angola and almost brought that civil war to an end, before the UN stepped in and fucked things up.

The UN wanted the civil war to continue so that they could exert infuence over the Angolan gov.

I also don't think it made them look too good succeeding where they had failed so long and we can't have that.

As far as sending special forces in to help let's just say why don't you get on your EU to give it a go

people need to stop believing in the UN as some angelic force of divine soldiers of absolute peace

the UN equals their veto nations.
thats why UN will stand aside and allow some war and atrocity, while being all protective and stop others.

we all established that the american war on iraq and afghanistan were illegal, quite early on, for example. and the UN let it happen. the russian invasion of georgia, and the following massacres of thousands of civilians unreported by main stream news - all allowed by the UN, who were fully aware of it happening.
veto holders do whatever the fuck they want.

what for?
in my opinion iraq did nothing to get invaded. if its about the kurds who got gassed, then we should be invading half the planet. governments hack down their own people all the time.

a country the US SHOULD have invaded was Liberia. they actually begged for invasion. specifically. they begged america - specifically - to invade  ::)

He was hardly just a creep. Regime change is a GOOD thing in this case
