Devi Died
« on: December 28, 2010, 08:38:56 PM »
My rat Devi died today. She was almost 3 years old, that is a good life for a rat I suppose. I think she had cancer as the past few weeks have not been that great.

Her sister, Kali, is still alive. And now she is all alone so I'm going to hang out with her more often. Rats are very social and she will miss her sister.

I love you, Devi. you were a good rat.

My condolences on the loss of a special friend.  Animals mean so much and do so much for us.

I'm sorry about your little rat. My former landlady had rats, and I always liked them. I send a   to Kali.

Thank you very much, ladies, for your condolences. It is a somber mood in my house tonight.

Rats are not anything at all like mice. Mice are stupid and skiddish. Rats are smart and friendly - and VERY bold. I always liked that. They arent afraid of nothin' ! I used to have a rat named Remington and when I would let him out instead of running everywhere he just sat in my lap and cooed when I petted him.

I don't think Kali has much longer as she has a bad growth. 3 years is about the limit for a rat. I gotta suck it up.

I had guinea pigs years ago, and I must admit, they're not terribly bright, but they made lovely pets in their way.  :)

I have never had one of those. Are they friendly or skiddish ? The difference between rats and other rodents is that rats arent afraid...of anything. Instead of running from you they run TO you.

My guinea pigs could behave either way. I had a father and son, and the son was a bit more nervous.
But I could cuddle them both, and even trim their nails by myself. They were very chatty too.

aww, that sounds so cute   I have a soft spot for critters of all kinds. I love little rodent chatter I wonder what they are saying  :orly:

My cat Hookah died after over 10 years of owning her,  not too long ago. That one really hurt. She had a major stroke and hung on for a few days having seizures and stuff then died after another major stroke. I spent almost 1000$ trying to keep her alive and she just had another stroke anyway.

I think we should turn this thread into a memorial thread for all pets we have lost.

She was lovely. It's so hard to lose a loving longtime companion.  :(

Thank you. That picture is actually a photo of a photo, that's why there are reflections on it!
Maybe by tomorrow the changes I made on Photofuckit (resizing, sharpening) will show up.   :2thumbsup:
