New Identity
« on: December 18, 2010, 11:49:20 PM »
Most of us while growing up hated our first names (and maybe our last ones also).  Here's your chance to change your first name to the one you always wanted or to one that reflects who you are or want to be right now.

I wanted to be Julie as a child and think I'd still like to be Julie or Laura.

I hate my name. No one EVER spells it right. And then some of them are like " are you sure it isnt spelled blablahblha"

 :screwy:

I think I know how to spell my name

and my maiden last name is a female first name, so people always think that my last name is my first name.

I wish my name was Stella :) I like that name.

Used fake names a bit when younger. Plus, must look like a Jennifer for some reason, because people have mistakenly called me Jennifer enough over the years that I will even respond.

When I was about 7 I wanted to be called Rebecca instead of the name I have.

Since I have been going to uni, I have asked people to call me by a shortened version of my name.

I never liked my last name either until I got married and changed it.

Never wanted my name to be different in the way it sounded, but, I did dislike how it looked when written down for a long time though. I wanted a nice compacted visual, like marianne, or so, without letters taking space above or below the bulk of the word.
I'm OK with my name, unusual as it is, and it sorts out people willing to make an effort to get it right, and people too lazy to do that. Sorting method  :P

Some people close to me call me Hyke, OK with that too.

My best friend in elementary school was Becky, which was short for Rebecca.

I liked that she had a shortened version of her real name for a nickname, so I wanted to have the same.

I decided I wanted to be named Mona Lisa but be called Lisa.

I outgrew that notion by middle school and I was glad to be just Lisa.

My mom's name was Eileen, but her mom called her Lolleen, not as a nickname, she just couldn't say it right.

Can remember being very young and thinking Darla from the Little Rascals had a great name, and wanted the same. Darla sounds strange now.
