Richard, just a note. Please avoid raw vegetables(steam them for a few minutes to loosen the cellulose in them, but too much that you lose nutrients), only eat wholegrain oats, not refined oats and avoid any processed fibre like white bread, cakes, biscuits and so on.
If you drink milk, maybe try and cut down on all dairy (it will make constipation worse) and try and find a cheap natural yoghurt with live cultures(bifidus(sp) and so on). Fruit can also aggravate the gut so avoid oranges, melon, pineapple and so on. Green apples and lemons are excellent though. In fact you should eat at least one lemon a day or juice it and add to apple juice.
Flax seed oil is excellent as well. But the taste is horrible so I mix it in a smoothie of rice milk and vanilla natural yoghurt.
