Sorry for the delay with replying about your feminists comments CanyonWind, I've been a little distracted (ok obsessed) lately and that's made it hard to focus on other issues.
I personally think that feminists are like any other group of people, in that unfortunately it tends to be those with the biggest mouths who get all the attention and often give people the wrong idea about that group. From my experience not all feminists are man hating lesbians and some are actually all about fighting for equality (rather than superior treatment as some seem to be fighting for). As I touched on before there are different 'brands' of feminism, with quite fundamental differences in their way of thinking so its untrue (not to mention unfair) to lump them all together like you did (especially when you consider that in the same post you criticised people for doing the exact same thing).
Take the porn issue for example, people tend to assume that all feminists are completely against porn, seeing it as exploitative to women and giving men unrealistic expectations about sex and women's bodies, etc, etc. Sure some do feel that way, and argue this vehemently anytime anyone dares to admit that actually they quite like porn. But others argue with the claims that the anti-porn feminists make.
My own personal views on feminsim are that although I would never deny that women were (and sometimes still are) being discriminated against in the work place and I would never deny that the feminist movement did achieve some good things, the feminist themselves (specifically the old school types) were in some cases just as controlling of women as the so-called male oppressors they were fighting against. Women under the guise of feminism criticised those women who chose to take on the traditional female roles, they were considered traitors to the cause by some. Then you had (and still get unfortunately) feminists telling other women how they should think about certain issues (e.g. porn, sex, wearing make-up, shaving body hair and even men) and any disagreement was met with 'well you only think that because you've been indoctrinated by an opressive, patriarchal society.'
I believe that people should be as free as possible to make their own choices, without others assuming that they make the choices they do because they've been brainwashed by society or are just not educated enough to make the 'right' decision.
