Disability income is about to disappear from this country completely soon.

Still, people get pushed to apply for it.

It is? How soon? :zombiefuck:

Just remember, hyke lives in the Netherlands. I haven't heard of any such thing about to happen here in the States.

Oh, okay. She had me scared for a minute. :o

Yeah, I can see why. I wonder what disabled Dutch people will do without that income though.  ???

They are relocating disability income into the realm of social services.
Don't know if social services will get extra resources for that though.
Disability income here is a double thing, a financial safety, you will have a minimal income, and customised support to get you into a job.

Social services are not bad here. So there still will be an income. It will soon depend on what area you live in on how much support aimed at the disability there will be though. There are minimal nationwide limits for a social services income. I have no idea how the support people may need to get a job will be handled once that bit gets into the realm of social services too. Can imagine that that will be different per place soon. That would be a big injustice imo.

Pentagram, how did it go on Monday? And did you look at my link I posted? It wasn't a trick one or anything.

Well, thanks for the link, it seems like it will be helpful. And I guess it went well on Monday. I was interviewed alone by a disability officer, then my representative was interviewed while I was in the same room. I was told that I would hear something from them in a month.

I have received a letter from Social Security about their decision. They have decided that my disability did not end and that my benefits will continue.

My worries are gone now! Yes! :green:

I am happy for you. Will they review this decision again next year? If so, now you can plan for the next hearing.

I don't know if or when I will have to be reevaluated right now.

It might be worth asking your caseworker. If this is going to happen every year,
you might find it less stressful if you know what to expect and when.

Great news.  Hope this will brighten the season for you.
