At least they realized it was 'entirely inappropriate' and removed it.

Quote
'Entirely inappropriate'

The Nicolson Institute is the largest school in the Western Isles, with about 1,000 pupils.

Senior councillor Mr MacDonald said an appropriate play area would now be built at the secondary.

He said: "I wish to apologise unreservedly on behalf of the council to the family of the boy involved.

"I think it is very clear to us and was very clear to the comhairle that the provision that was put in place was entirely inappropriate for the use to which it was going to be put."

Mr MacDonald said the specifications of what was needed had not been made clear to the supplier.

How terrible. That "autistic guy" is a human for Jesus Christ's sake, not some wild animal! It's more than inappropriate, it's inhumane!

What a great idea all you need now are those vending machines that sell kibble like at the petting zoos they could even charge admission  ::)

Wow, imagining that getting something new in a schoolyard does take lots of time, and needs to be processed through many channels, a whole bunch of people seriously screwed up here.

Why did they not simply talk with the parents of the kid/kids that would benefit from an adaptation of the play-area outside?

Ones things get in pipelines of organisations, people shut down their brain quite easy.
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

I like to pace around, but that's not even a good pacing area.  :thumbdn:
