24 hours & 53 minutes
« on: October 30, 2010, 05:15:16 PM »
That's how long it takes to drive 1600 miles from central Kentucky to Bethel, Connecticut and then back.  :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck:
This includes 2 stops for fuel and bathroom, 2 stops for food & bathroom, 1 stop for bathroom and a 15 minutes rest at the destination including a bathroom break.

.....and what the hell is up with the $5 toll to cross the Tappan Zee bridge?
I missed paying the toll on the way back....Oops.....looks like I'll be getting a nasty-gram in the mail.  :thumbdn:

what-s in Bethel that you'd go so far for.  Not much there at least in my experience my brother lives one town over in Danbury.  The Tappan Zee  toll just went up last week and you only have to pay one direction.  That was very good time you made

You really should quit you day job and start smuggling heroin for a living. With driving like that, you'd make a KILLING!!!  :green: :green: :green:

I went there to pick up a ginormous geode I bought on ebay.
It was cheaper/easier to pick it up being I still have my turbo-diesel VW. Only spent $100 on fuel for the trip.

The Geode is spectacular.
Not only is it rather large, it has very consistently dark and consistently formed Amethyst, nice polished agate border, 2' wide, 1' tall, 15" deep, (13" deep inside), weighs 180lbs, originated in Artigas, Uruguay.
All natural exterior. (many are coated with cement and paint :thumbdn:)

It is amethyst and I am Royal?  Right?  Can I have it after you die?  (Sends Lady Weeble out for poison).

Really gorgeous.

That's amazing. May sound like a silly question, but how does one keep the dust from collecting in something like that?

Not sure if that would be good enough; maybe something higher powered though, like a compressor. Am guessing Geode may have similar items and am curious of his dusting techniques, and how to keep it so shiny. Seems a challenge with all those little crevices

Not silly at all. I use the brush attachment on my vacuum.

Thanks all.

Also, I was talking to the guy I bought it from and he used windex and a garden hose on this very geode when he got it.

I may have to try that on a few other pieces i have,
