Had to  :google:  to remember Armistice Day! I'm not aware of poppy-purchasing in the States, is it a Brit thing?

It's a vet thing my uncle used to sell them around Veterans Day  I have not seen any yet this year.  I get them every time I see them

In previous years the vets would stand at the intersections and sell them on Nov 11.  I always bought one.  Haven't seem them recently, maybe because the WWII vets are dying and the other war vets are not that aware of the poppy (Flanders Field WWI) and European wars.

I always buy one. Er...five...because they keep falling off my jacket. They're not out here yet though. Usually the day after Halloween.

I haven't bought one yet, but I used to sell them when I was in ROTC in high school.
