Did you abuse animals as a young child?

I did, I abused mostly snails and cats, I remember picking up and throwing the cat I owned when I was 11-12.

I used to pull cats by their tails when I was little. I thought that's what they were for and I couldn't understand why they didn't like it.


I think most little kids are animal abusers because they don't know any better. That's why you don't leave them alone with a baby or young child. They might do things that would provoke it and the animal will defend and the kid can get hurt and bam the animal has to be put to sleep which be unfair.

I think it's true that very young kids can "abuse" animals without realising it. like pulling a cat's tail. but actual abuse of animals is, to me, something that comes along with knowledge and understanding of what you're doing.

Unfortunately I was in my pre teens before I actually reached it. Having a cat at age nine helped me figure out how you should not treat a cat. Then I had a cat of my own at age ten and I made mistakes and learned from them. My cat was always forgiving. I also gave her love was why.

I had always been slow growing up so things reached me late. I was like a little kid was probably why. So in my middle childhood, I was more of a toddler and then pre teens I was like a six to a eight year old. But yet I have an autistic friend who is a perpetual four year old and I doubt he abuses animals. I bet he would know what would be classified as animal abuse because he is aware of laws and even knows going fast doesn't get you anywhere quicker. Well immature emotions and social skills doesn't effect your intelligence and keep you from not knowing the laws and understanding them and other stuff.

I guess I never did abuse then since I didn't know what I was doing was wrong and cruel. Even if it meant being an older child.

I didn't know bugs were animals. I killed them all the time and do slugs count too? I also used to kill them. Then I stopped. I still kill bugs but I started to throw them outside if I see a moth or something.

I remember biting my cats ears as hard as a could. it was a sick compulsion I had when I was little.

I also accentually left the cat in the drawer for a week. Kitty was Ok but I was just playing with it and left it in there accentually.

Was too young to understand that animals we not toys.
