I wonder how in the Hell humans came to "smoking"
There's lots of things that make me wonder how the original thought was inspired. Take salmon mousse, for instance. Can't help but wonder why anyone would ever think whipped fish would be a good thing, but salmon mousse is awesome.

I've always loved the smell of the smoke but I never got addicted.

Like the smell of some cigars, but can't recall anyone ever saying they like the smell of cigarette smoke, even smokers.

I was the anti-smoker to my grandmother and asked her why she smoked cigarettes and what she even saw in them.  She offered her lit cigarette to me and I pursed my lips and sucked hard just like I had seen her do.  I was always a very curious child, but I'll never try that again.

"I wonder how in the Hell humans came to "smoking" tobacco, cannabis, etc.? Because when I look at a plant, I don't have the instinct to roll it up into a joint, light it up, and smoke it."

I would imagine it started by someone putting a tobacco plant on a fire to keep it going and liking the smell.

Someone once said that it took a brave person to eat the first oyster.  I guess it was the last oyster he ate if he forgot to peel it.

I smoke rolling tobacco, mostly Champion brand. It's cheaper than tailor-made (pre-rolled with filter) cigs and I prefer the taste.

I'd like to quit because it's so expensive in Australia. I've cut down a lot, sometimes as few as 1 or 2 a day. When I drink booze I chain smoke, this is a tough pattern to break.
This brain could do with some more dimethyltryptamine.
