If you can't find work in L.A., then you have serious problems.

I used to live in Orange County

What kind of work are you looking for??

Really? What do you know that I don't? I've been stuck here since April without a single day of work. I've had to go on food stamps for the first time in my life. And I don't see anything on the horizon.

My cousin lived down there and she worked for a movie company. Then she couldn't find any more work. She also worked for a business that was going out of business so she got her last paycheck, put it in the bank and paid her bills. All her checks bounced because her work gave her a bad check. So she was more in debt because she was a victim of a bad check. She didn't have the money to pay the bank. I am not sure if this was in LA or elsewhere. Mom told me about it.

My dad also lived down there too and back then the rent was somewhere in the $300's and even though it was in the 70's then, he still said LA was expensive. Well back then $300 was worth $1475.94 according to this:

http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl

So you see why the cost of living down there has gone up over the years but when you look back, you see it still cost as much then except money just got worth more so the cost went up with it. That's how much is costs today to live down there for rent but it all varies. So back in the 70's, $300 dollars was like over a thousand compared to now.

My degree is in Psychology, so ideally some kind of Behavioral Therapy, or maybe a Research Assistant, but at this point, anything will do.

With this sucky economy, lot of people are struggling looking for work. One of my dad's friends had recently moved back to Montana for work and he lives in the same town as my brother now where he goes to school and they see each other. He could not find a new job here so he moved back after twenty years of living here, I should say over 20 years since he moved here before I was born and lived with my parents until he got a job.

I used to fuck date a chick who was a shrink out at the prison in Chico. Haven't talked to her in 5 years, I have no idea if she still works out there. Have you tried that path? prisons are good employers AFAIK.

Oh, on second thought, I have a high school buddy who's a professor of evolutionary psychology out at UCLA. I might talk to him and see what he says.

Have you ever asked him where you fit on the evolutionary tree?

Yes, I was considering being a Psych tech at Atascadero state prison near San Luis Opispo, but I would have to back to school for that, and I can't afford it. All decent work requires going back to school for some specific training.
