Fucking Kroger's

They have committed highway robbery on me for the last time. I went into the store, planning to spend only 50 dollars on groceries, and I end up spending over twice as much! I have gotten about 50 items ranging from 1-5 dollars, their prices are jacked up as Hell, I guess I am going to have to cut down on the amount of food that I eat. Because the economy in the USA sucks ass, my income level is low, and I am gaining weight, maybe I cannot afford to eat like a king anymore. The items I have bought include soda, milk, cereal, fruit, chips & dip, TV dinners, ice cream, etc.

Damn you Kroger's and the grocery stores of America for draining my savings and my enjoyment of food in general!

dude, i feel yer pain!! i also have bought a few things and it was damn near $50 aswell, the stores know you arent gonna go hunt for your dinner so thats how they get away with that. fucking mexicans!

i have nothing but canned food left to eat until i get paid wich in in 8 days.

I love Krogers!

Certainly better than China WalMart.

But yeah, food's getting expensive..........

No Kroger's around here  we have Stop and Shop as the expensive grocery store right by our house.  If I go across town it costs a lot less

we also dont have a krogers. i usually shop at safeway because its the closest place around  :P

Stay away from the things that you listed.

The less processed the food is the better it is and usually cheaper.  Pop a potato in the microwave for about 50 cents.

A roasted chicken can provide about 4 meals for less than $7.  Save the bones and make soup for a fifth meal.   

Shop the seasons.  In the winter we have corn salad (canned corn and salad dressing) when lettuce is too cheap.

Eggs are a good cheap filler.  They'll fill you even more if you make French toast with them.

It is possible to eat well for less than $5 per day.  We do.  It is cheaper as you build your pantry and your recipe collection.

Try googling frugal recipes, cheap recipes, the Hillbilly Housewife (excellent source for dire days), 4 or 5 ingredient recipes.

Stop buying junk and you'll be considerably richer.

What I buy for food:

Chicken (4 bags worth, €10)
Wraps (4 bags, €6)
Tabasco sauce (€2)
Diluted drink (€2)

That's all I pretty much eat now. Only costs €20 for 2-3 weeks worth, and Ireland is considered one of the most expensive countries in Europe. :orly:

that is a family tradition with us.  I start with the grocery ads, and go to the most distant one first.  Cold food goes in a cooler.  I've gone to 5 stores in one day.  The bent and dent closed up 2 months ago, so I can't get "stale" bread for 99 cents anymore.  I know WalMart will match prices, but I'm not always in the mood to put up with WalMart.

Krogers in your area is probably called Ralph's.

We have Von's here which is the same as Safeway.

Half of his problems can be solved if the cunt didn't decide to blow it away on lots of food. And buy less crap in general.
