due to the geography around here (hills and mountains) i only ever saw lightning as flashes, at best a short lasting downwards line

some summers ago, in valencia, a typical large urban area, lots of flatt land, and a long distance to nearest hill, i finally saw spectacular lightnings, crawling along the sky

it was so epic... i couldnt get enough of it
like an eyegasm every time :I

I've only ever seen lightning as flashes; we don't get much lightning here, the view from my house only extends for a few hundred metres at most before it's blocked by hills and although there are locations nearby that provide a view right across the Clyde valley, I generally avoid going outside when there's lightning.
