one thing americans/non euros often misunderstand about eurovision is that its not some common "talent competition", most artists are allready locally famous, and have their labels and everything
its about flaunting - gayness
not necesarily homosexuality, but good old gayness, like in the flintstones intro song "lets have a gay old time"
but VERY gay...
i guess you just have to have grown up w it, to truly understand it :]
