I am very good at using items and tools on hand to fix things

It's Parts to the rescue!  :fixin: :tape: ( I still need to buy that quality 3M duct tape. )

I should be brave and stop.

You can do it.

You could even start an alternative festival.

 :runaway:

Yes, that's the way to runaway from this festival. :runaway:

Run faster Odeon, run faster. They are coming to get you with nasty cheap special effects.

The problem is, I've been doing it for thirty years. It's a way of life, it's a big part of me, and so leaving is a huge change.

And I hate change.

Seriously though, start your own.  You have the experience and credibility to find a backer.

The Moominfestival could become a reality, and should.  :viking:

Only saw this now.

No, it shouldn't. A festival by me would be one with technically brilliant films. I'd love it and maybe a few others, but we wouldn't watch the films, we'd drop in to check the sound and image and then go back to the booth.

We do, in a way. We have these gatherings every year where we run a couple of 35mm and 70mm films in the garage. Nobody's actually watching the stuff other than for a few minutes at a time, and everybody's gathering next to the projector, drinking beer and talking about old times. It's awesome.

Sounds like Mardi Gras in New Orleans except everyone gathers on the parade route.

I did not learn to use nautical maps. But I did have to make soil type maps. Was cool.

You have 70mm shows nobody watches, too?
