I don't really curse much at all IRL, nor do I let my daughter be around people cursing. I don't want my daughter to say some curse word a million times and I'm afraid that's what would happen if she heard me or her dad talk that way.
She heard "First they forked and then they spooned" on House and she found it funny, so I heard her say that a lot of times.
i dont think its very dangerous.
werent you a kid?
when i was, my dad cursed constantly. and, well, i curse a lot but its not really a harmful thing.
norwegian tv does not *beep out* curses, and "fuck/fucking" is not part of our vocabulary, we do not use the word for sex, as a curse, the other ones, crap, shit, etc we use, plus some others.
ive heard toddler-tv hosts curse
and use real curses
sortof equivalent to "holy shit!" and its kinda just natural (in fact, "fucking" could even be used to translate some of what ive heard them say on kids tv )
my stepmother does give me dissapointed looks if i curse around my sisters there, but the kids just laugh
"you said shiiit!"
My daughter is autistic and has echolalia, so it's not much of an exaggeration when I say she would say the word a million times, especially if she got a reaction from her teachers or someone like that. I worked hard not to react to "First they forked and then they spooned," but I don't know how her teachers would react to many repetitions of an actual curse word when they have the other kids to consider.
Her Special education teacher actually put soap in her mouth in second grade when she thought my daughter had said a curse word, although my daughter did not say what she thought she heard. I don't think these teachers would ever do anything like that, but I don't want to put my daughter in that position again.
