I loved these as a kid. This one isn't a proper spider, but related to spiders. Takes hardly anything to make them cast a way a leg, and that leg can keep wriggling for an hour or so, to distract the possible enemy, while the critter itself walks out. Really cool.

That pictures reminds me of someone from WP who took sinnybins side and believed her BS just because they are friends and gave me BS. I've lost respect for that person and disliked her ever since and she was one of my favorite posters. She had that same picture as her avatar and it triggered my past again :( Oh the bad times.


EDIT: I just looked at her avatar and they aren't exactly the same but it looks similar because she also had a avatar of a cat lying on its back on a blanket and he was lying in a different angle.
