Anyone else find that inflatable beds don't last long? I have three inflatable beds, all three are punctured at the moment. The first I had gotten was a queen-sized inflatable, back last December, it lasted for a few months until it got punctured, I managed to patch the hole and it lasted a few weeks longer until it got punctured again and I could not find the hole! So I threw the piece of shit away and pulled out the one I had for my guests, which was only twin-sized. It took some time to get used to how small it was compared to the queen-sized, but it was still comfortable, until it got punctured after a few months. Couldn't find the hole, so I go to Wal-Mart again and got a full-sized one with a built-in pump. It was working just fine until last night, the bed was halfway deflated. Another puncture! I managed to find it and am trying to patch it.

What happens is with even the smallest leak, I sleep for several hours, then I wake up in the morning with my ass touching the floor! I try to be careful with these beds, but after using them every night, they only last a few months before getting a leak. If I cannot find the leak, then I have to throw 60-80 dollars away and spend another 60-80 dollars on another inflatable. Well, not anymore. If my attempt at patching my inflatable bed fails, I'm gonna have to look for something else I can sleep on, or try the most expensive inflatable they have at Wal-Mart, which is made out of plastic instead of leather, apparently. It's a hundred dollars, I can't afford that, much less a spring mattress bed. And my couch is too small to sleep on comfortably. This is really gonna suck if I get sleepy and I don't have a bed to sleep on! :grrr:

I hate inflatable beds because they make sounds whenever you roll over from one side to the other.

Yes, I have bought three twin sized inflatable beds for my daughter's trundle bed under her loft bed because she suddenly got scared of sleeping in the loft part of the bed after she had been sleeping up there for months and I couldn't move the mattress down.  Each of the three air mattresses developed a slow leak and I can't find any of the leaks to patch them even though I used bubble soap and also submerged the air mattresses in the swimming pool trying to find the leaks.

My advice would be to either bite the bullet and buy an inexpensive real mattress or else buy a thick twin sized piece of foam (perhaps from a fabric store) to sleep on and stop throwing good money after bad on the inflatable beds.

I have an inflatable mattress I use when camping.....it's developed a slow leak as it partially deflated after a day.

I have a 70% waveless soft sided waterbed for home use. I really hope it never develops a leak.

You may not be able to afford the foam option.  I was in a fabric store this spring and the customer ahead of me was buying a piece 4 inches thick and about 8 feet long.  Over $70 and not returnable for health reasons.
