I was labeled with Early Infantile Autism because I had classic autism and also AS because I had the classic "little professor" qualities but it would have been more accurate, I think, if it had been HFA. I don't really believe AS qualifies as a real disorder and maybe that's why they are removing it. I hope they do. I don't care anything about the AS label, especially with the kinds of folks who apparently are diagnosed with it.
I have met a fair few AS people in real life and it is quite obvious they are on the spectrum. It is hard to tell what people really are over the internet, though, I think.
I do agree that maybe HFA suits you better because then you wouldn't have to have been labelled twice.
