Cheats kick arse. Couldn't play Doom or any of those clones without them (although the Quake cheats never worked - how can you die in God mode FFS?)

Age of Empires w/ cheats really kicks arse, especially using cars and photon men within about 500 years game time.

Also, if I were playing Fallout 3, I'd have no problem blowing up Megaton - hell, carnage is what makes if fun.

I'm using the destabilizer at the moment in Fallout. It does lots of damage, 165 at the moment :headbang2:. I'm not sure where I found it. It might have been on the spaceship.

Mass Effect 3 is out? :orly:

Ooops, sorry. No, I meant Mass Effect 2.

Loved Mass Effect 1/2 so far myself.

Fallout 3 was too fucking easy really.

I need games to be easy. I use the cheat console in Fallout and Elder Scrolls :-[

I had to put it on easy for Broken Steel (last mission was a bitch, in all fairness), but the rest was left on hard.

I've just completed the main quest and started on Broken Steel, although I've not played it for a good few days. I've been playing Civilization V since it came out. I was one of the people stuck in the first torrent that someone was uploading at about 3% an hour.

the end of broken steel is a bitch even on easy
then again, i get _very_ impatient sometimes.

i dunno if any of you noticed.

I noticed.
Fuck the makers of Fallout. Broken Steel's too hard . Fuck every employee of Bethesda I hope they all get raped in every oriface and catch AIDS and die slowly. >:D

YES!!!

actually bethesda are okay, cus the invited the old crew back to work on fallout new vegas.
i never hated the old crew. i hate nothing, absolutely NOTHING of FO2 :}

and

civ 5 makes me cry. cus i cant run it. i dunno for sure, im just assuming that i cant.
during a huge cleanup i deleted civ 4 which i now regret tremendously, leaving me completely civless.

i downloaded civ 3, which was awesome, but... agh... :/ its gone again anyway...

Steve-O: my main reason for not exploding megaton is im an FO2 fan primarily, and megaton is The Only thing that sortof gives me the old fallout feeling. eliminating it would leave me w a game that has almost nothing left of the old feeling. Fallout is about wasteland, but also needs the "cyber-punk"-ish societies that megaton tries hard to be...

Why do you assume you can't run it if you haven't tried?

I go for utter destruction when I play games. Take Buffy - Chaos Bleeds: if I don't kick arse really quickly and knock off everything in as quick a time as I can, I feel I haven't done enough.

Jak & Daxter series were good, but couldn't finish them. Most people I know who have Jak II are struggling near the beginning trying to get into that weapons facility.

steve: i noticed an "evolution" in the way i play sand-box games.
starting with fallout 1 and 2, i would finish the main quest, and leave as many civilians as possible, for them to slaughter them all.
going for, like you say, utter destruction.

later my habit of leaving all civilians - almost fanatically - stayed, while i tended to just replay the game when i completed it, rather than go on the rampage i always anticipated.

i am still a notooorious thief  8)
fallout 1 and 2 ill lockpick, steal and pickpocket anything i can, systematically, ill pickpoctet everyone :D

in FO 3, and elder scrolls pickpocketing is significantly more difficult, so im satisfied lockpicking and stealing a lot of loose stuff :]

butterflies:
im using a 3 year old computer. im imagining that ill be able to JUST run it, with luck, but w graphics set to a minimum or so.
thats why i rather want civ 4 back, cus that would run quite smoothly on this computer,
while i kept the graphics down to minimum on my previous computer.

I'm using a newish quad core computer to play civ v on and for me the biggest problem is the ammount of time between turns late on in the game. The AI makes you wait while it slowly moves all the opposition units. If I play on anything other than the smallest map size I get really pissed off waiting. I am not a patient person. That's why I ended up getting so fed up with Football Manager.

I see.

About Civ IV. Try downloading from Bit-torrent or Frostwire. If you have the manuals, then you should be OK still. If it's one that needs to run off the disk (CD) then you might have to try e-bay or a secondhand gaming place. EB Games in Australia are usually good for finding stuff that people trade in.

steve, i usually manage to find civ 4 allright, its mostly my own little dilemmas im battling

butterflies, damn i totally forgot that about the game... same here really. i prefer as many civilizations as possible, on as big a map as possible. that way i can kill off civs, and still have many left to fight.
but the drawback is the increasingly ridiculous wait between turns.. i remember i would go make myself sandwiches while waiting for a turn :|

I disagree. Cheat codes make a game boring. What's even the point of playing a game where you can't fail?

I completed the three episodes of Doom and Duke Nukem 3D without any cheat codes on the medium difficulty. There was a lot of times where I was completely lost and even more times where I just simply got killed. Quake started to bore me by the time I advanced a few levels in the second episode. I guess I am just tired of the key hunt that most first person shooters are.

1. why must there be a challenge?
2. in other games, or on other savefiles :]

not if you maxed out all the cheating thats possible to do.
thats another thing
just because i "open up" for cheating, doesnt mean im just gonna cheat everything away. i'd start a new game, enter the console command for finished game, and go read a book

in my own experience, i only cheat when challenge fades over in frustration

its ruining my high>:I

I only use cheats when I'm bored of the game and not arsed to challange myself. Normally I at least try, but I don't mind putting the game on easy.

There's one good reason one should have a ps3: Little big planet. I feel like such a juvenile when I laugh at the levels I made on it: Dragging guys to the toilet to sort out bad vindaloos to typical willys and vaginas. Can't wait for the 2nd one to come out.
