Bonfire Night

I know it's not even halloween yet but bonfire night is awesome   :green:

anyone doing anything? I wanna go to a bonfire this year or see some proper firework, but it'll probably just end up a few fireworks in the back garden

We don't have it here. I do have bonfire though just no set night I love the smell and the heat on my face.  What type of fireworks cany you get there>

I love bonfires, and I haven't been to one in oh so many years! If I didn't work nights, I could go to one on Halloween!  :-\

Our bonnie night used to be Guy Fawkes (Nov 5) until some fuckwits were blowing themselves up with their crackers. The arsehole governments banned the crackers, and took the fun out of it. And that was in the 70s.

In Louisiana, they build enormous (2 or 3 story) wood structures along the Mississippi River levees for Christmas Eve.  They light them at dusk to guide Papa Noel to the children's houses.  I understand there are river cruises to view the spectacle from the Mississippi and the traffic on the roads to view the spectacle goes on for miles.

In the north and east of my country there are bonfires with Easter. Some are over 20 meter high.
Depends on the area if they are lit on the Eastern Sunday or Eastern Monday.

I do not live in an area with Easter fires any more, alas.

No bonfires in Oz, unless REALLY remote. Usually bonfire = natural disaster :( or pissed people in the burns unit along with the beat up Holden Commodore that ended up in the fire with them. Good 'ol Holdens. Built like tanks some of the older ones.
