I also get strep at least once a year.  I blame it on my wife and kids bringing the germs home from school as I generally work outside or in open areas all by myself and most of the day I am breathing through a HEPA filter  :M

My husband used to get those all the time when he was a kid, but not one since we have been married.  His doctor told him that there are a finite number of strains of streptococcus and he must have developed immunity to all of them.

I have never had strep throat.

Strep throat really hurts!  I had five of them in 18 months once as a child, so my
pediatrician put me on daily penicillin for six months!  I doubt he'd do that today.  :orly:

They still prescribe prophylactic antibiotics.  My daughter was on amoxicillin until she was two months old and then on Bactrim for years to prevent a UTI since she had renal reflux.

I guess streptococcal bacteria could cause tonsillitis, but I think strep throat usually just refers to a sore throat caused by a streptococcal infection.

I have probably had it loads of times when I was a kid. I remember getting tonsilitis when I was about 23, that was the last time I had a throat infection I think.

That sounds right to me.  I still have my tonsils despite all my strep throats.  :chin:

I still have my tonsils also,  they have made the requirements to get them out a lot harder then they used to be.  I am borderline I could probably get them out if I pushed but the thought of surgery is not a pleasant one

My tonsils are tiny.  One time I was seen by a different pediatrician than my regular one,
and from looking in my throat she assumed I'd already had them removed.

No tonsils or ocular lenses, but appendix and gall bladder, unmentionable organs are in situ.

I puzzle why I've not had gall bladder problems (female, fair, fat and 40) while PA had his removed.  Also he's missing tonsils and appendix, part of his ankle, parts of his eyes (corneal and cataract surgeries).  Maybe I should have gotten a discount when I got him.

Why do you have the plates, were they part of orthodontic surgery?  :orly:
