The phone still will work as an alarm. 


I'm pondering on how to prevent that happening again to my daughter. I want her to have a functional phone, for when things go wrong on her way to and from school, and such.

With my own cell-phone I am very careful. Need it for banking. Don't want that number to be culled by vodafone.

Thinking on a sim-only subscription of 2.50 a month for my girl.

^ Ja, good thing for your daughter to have a working cell-phone when travelling and sim-only is, I think, a sensible solution. Or, less expensive, you (others) could phone her at least, say, every 2/3 weeks to prevent the prepaid account will be deleted.

With Vodafone it still would require a half year uploading of the pre-paid.

And it seems to depend on what time and what location if you can upload only 10 euro. Most of the time it is a minimum of 20 euro.

Vodafone is the only one with an almost decent reach here though. 

My garden however does happen to be in a very small area where the reach is less than should be, even for Vodafone.



Landline is still a necessity.
