I've done some mushroom growing myself actually. Although I always used a combination of isopropanol and peroxide rather than hypochlorite to sterilize the containers and tools.
Done some Agaricus spp., Psilocybe cubensis, and P.cyanescens; one of the woodlovers.
Just building a portable (ish...somewhat, sort-of at any rate) sterile hood at the moment, need to do the airlocks and glove ports, then I'll be ready to experiment with culturing ergot (Claviceps purpurea, a parasite of rye, and other cereal grains and grasses)
Going to be doing the culture on agar plates in there, and mutagen work to obtain a good productive strain before transfer to bubble-column or stirred tank bioreactors for actual alkaloid production and harvest. been reading up and doing my research into all the various finer details that are needed to ensure good yields.
Should be a lot of fun (not to mention profitable), even if its probably the most ambitious mycology project I've ever attempted.
