Ligaments weaker, because of hormones, and weight pushing on the bones in the feet. According to a shoesalesman it was common for feet to get longer, not because the feet actually grow, but, the pressure of a body over an extended time makes the foot weaker, and therefore bigger. Pregnancy would ad weight, and weakness to ligaments.
