A false friend. "Geld" is "money" in German. In German that sign would say "Gilt für die ganze Straße"

I did not get my driver's license till I was 18 because I lived with my mother and she did not have a car.  I used the driving schools car for my test which was just driving around the block and then parallel parking

In Sweden you cannot get a car license until 18 anyway.

Ironically you can get a gun license at 15, but that is usually if you are a hunter.

I could have gotten a learners permit at 15 and an unrestricted  regular one at 16 but things have changed where I live now there are all kinds of restrictions when your under 18 now.  The thought being it would prevent 16 -17 years olds having as many accidents due to inexperience but all it's done is make them wait till they are 18 to get their license  pushing the accidents 18 and 19.
