I wouldn't want them out.  I think of all the times i had that infection they kind of blocked it going deeper inside me,  somewhere,  in my innards.  Somewhere worse i suspect.  There cosmetic appearance is not really important and it's the first thing i would show off to any new dates. :zoinks:

They were indeed. The surgeon made sagittal splits in my lower jaw to move it forward so my bottom teeth would align with my upper teeth. I have seen pictures of how it is done (on another person) and it looks fiddly.

I once saw Jeff Buckley (and band) play live in Paradiso, Amsterdam.  :orly: The concert made quite an impression on me back then.

When I was 26, so years ago now. I can feel with my fingers where the splits in the bone and the plates are. I never asked but I think they dislocate the jaw to do the operation.
