Please don't hurt me when I somewhat agree with his argument on health standards of school dinners.

I wonder what Viv thinks?

I agree with part of what he has to say- but I also fail to see how kids are going to develop a healthy attitude to food when they are still forced to eat everything on their plate if they have school dinners.  What's wrong with them stopping eating when they're full?

I also believe that measures such as taking any form of chips (including oven chips) off the menu all together is actually making the problem worse- kids are choosing to eat out at take aways instead of at school, some women were even selling burgers and chips over the wall at some schools.

well, as pee predicted, i agree to a certain extent with his affect on the shite school dinners kids have been suffering for ever.  but as most of them go home to eat crap, it's only the tip of the iceberg, and PI's point about forcing them to eat everything (athough i've never come across that, since i was at school, and vomited over my dinner, which stuffed the fucking fascist who said i had to eat the whole thing) and chips is common sense.

oh, this would be a long post, if i said everything, and i'm tired, and i bet i wouldn't explain it properly, and everyone would shout at me, so i shan't bother with any more.

We were always forced to eat absolutely everything when we were kids, and they still do it at my kids' school.   They also give out 'clean plate' awards to the kids who have been struggling finishing everything-to me that just seems a little silly (like rewarding them for eating more than they really want to).
