Yes sometimes tobacco, lots of pot and hashish, sometimes crank. Why? Are you blaming the victim?  :P  :hahaha:
Yes! It was your own fault! :hahaha:

Glad you did in the end. What happened with the visit to the ER?

It is hard to believe that smoking was actually prescribed. Surely it would make asthma worse? IIRC one of my mum's uncles died from an asthma attack.

I wonder if allergies and asthma are becoming more common in general as global and local air quality gets shittier and shittier.

I outgrew having severe asthma (or else I just do better when physically healthier and not under constant emotional duress and/or being a better housekeeper than my family was makes a big difference), but I do definitely still have mild to moderate asthma.  And allergies.  It's kind of a constant annoyance, but not usually a major medical concern.

NIce!

To me it seems as if everyone is dying.

Everywhere I see people, I see them unhealthy and coughing.

Of course, it IS fall time. :puke:

I live in a place where people are generally allergic to the actual weather.  I learned to kick up my bioflavinoids in late summer to help with that shit.  People who have lived here all their lives (including my wife) seem to miss this necessity.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Smoking was used as a treatment for asthma attacks, begin last century. Just smoking, or adding medication to the tobacco. It was the way to inhale.

The Indians smoked mullein, some herbalist still recommend it. It does work to some extent (mullein is a natural expectorant), one of the ingredients in some of the asthma cigs...belladonna used to be another (1900's or so), I guess with that...if you were hallucinating you didn't care so much if you were breathing. Smoking used to be the treatment.

Same here, I also supplement with Vit D which seems to help a great deal.

There is a connection between too much hygiene and increase in asthma too. So, not all is about things getting more filthy.

The long term effect will be bad. Some asthma and emphysema patients say the immediate short term effect can be a relief, bringing more air in wide open airways.

There were warnings a couple of years ago, towards over hygienic parents, bathing their toddlers three times a day, and cleansing the counters and everything with anti-bacterial stuff all the time.
Kids from parents that clean developed a lot more asthma and allergies.

There was some amazement to find that there were less allergy and asthma problems east of the Iron Curtain, when it was torn down IIRC. Lots more particles in the air, because of the use of coal and lignite, and less hygiene. So, the results were kind of astonishing.

My mother was a clean freak, I am a bit of one too.

Didn't start out that way, over the years I just found myself getting more and more like mom.

I did smoke, yes. One would think it was easier to quit after a visit to the ER, but it took me years to finally succeed.
renaeden is just being a big meanie to us.

I've definitely stopped cleaning as much, not just because of time constraints, but also because I know the cleaning products can fuck with me.

Confession:  I avoid unnecessary handwashing.  And by that, I mean, as a mature adult who is relatively well-able to function in society, I have mastered the fine art of not peeing on my own goddamn hands.  I generally assume the taps on the sink will undo any good that handwashing is supposed to do in the first place.
