You're a person, of sorts. Reasonable? Now that IS debatable.

wow. wandering about and found this thread.
i found the layers fascinating.

back when i was a christian it was poorly thought of to use such language if you were a christian. but its been a long time. it looks like proselytizing has changed too. it's much more energetic.

i wasn't sure what "another" meant though. was F.A. the first one or the another one with respect to the guy who plans to burn the qurans?

Looks like it won't be happening after all or he's trolling yet again. I think the pastor suffered troll's remorse, that or rumours of a deal were made. :zoinks:

Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

What's even funnier is that one of the Monty Python crew had the name Terry Jones.

I believe the burning may have been called off.

I never had friction burns except that one time I masturbated with sandpaper.

One can't convince a homphobe otherwise through argument alone, no matter how rational. But then their opinions don't matter, provided they're not out lynching. To each his own.

The problem being that most religious individuals, in particular Christians, have an oxymoronic drive to simultaneously save and damn everyone. "Spread the word and then shake the dust from your feet" was more relevant in a day when your neighboring towns didn't KNOW about Christianity. Most people nowadays are familiar, some to the point of having been Christians and then having found another faith or become agnostics or atheists.

Spreading the word doesn't mean drag 'em kicking and screaming to heaven or hell. But it's a righteous indignation to feel one is the savior of the world. That's called having a God Complex, folks.

Christ taught humility, including intellectual. Not Knowitall-ism.

:plus: Yes, it seems the modern day Christians (post Constantine) were all about making themselves the one true breed of Christianity, never minding the fact that Jesus teachings were probably bastardized in the process. Jesus as a teacher/philosopher tried to reach out to as many 1st century people as he could, but died before he could witness his works being put into written form. We have the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, which are stories of what Jesus said, but none of them are the ACTUAL word of Jesus. I personally think that all faiths at the time he was alive could have learned something, but as we only now have the collection of books from the Constantine era (and later King James), how do we know how much the original message may have been twisted?
