I think Norway or Iceland could claim Newfoundland, for instance, but that's another story.
There were a few Jews living in the area for all those 2000 years, though they weren't in majority in the whole area that they were given in 1948.
However the Arabs had their one nations created adjacent to Israel: Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Transjordan.
Then the leaders of Egypt, Syria and Transjordan attacked Israel just after it was created. They lost. Then they tried the same in 1967 and 1973 and lost again.
Blame the Arab leaders, not the Israelis.
i see how your thinking, but i say it is... simplistic.
egypt, syria and transjordan doesnt matter for the people of the areas occupied by a newly constructed nation.
its easy to think "but they got other arab countries they can go to"
we're talking peoples _lives_
and the arabs had a strong sense of unity. after all, syria, transjorden, even modern egypt was _defined_ by the league of nations. by a buncha white people.
they see themselves as a nation, and they see their ancient province of palestine invaded. i'd be surprised if they hadnt attacked on the first day. any western nation would do the same. i can make endless examples. irish people forcibly removed from the british isles, and put in brittany france, forcing french natives out of there. there would be problems.
the blame is israels now.
it was palestines.
then it was israel.
then it was arab neighbors.
then it was league of nations.
then it was hitler.
then it was some jewish art professor.
then it was some croatian dude w a gun and a vengeance.
we know how the algorithm of reality works.
right now israel is the one pounding away, with grossly overproportional force with obvious sadism thrown into the mix, making them ridiculously similar to the nazi germans they have been crying about for decades.
right now israel needs to chill. not palestine.
