Yeah it seems they keep taking away the alcohol content. I drink on occasions and when I do it's whiskey mixed with some other drink.
My cousin was complaining about the Colt 45's.

Colt 45's is some nasty stuff even if Lando Calrissian likes it

I bet they named it after the pistol you will probably shoot yourself in the head with after drinking too much of it. :zoinks:

Got Red Stripe today it's in 11.2 OZ bottles why?

It's gotta have something to do with the shape of the bottles, they probably made the bottles to hold 11oz but later found out there was enough room for an additional 0.2oz so they added that.  Either that or it's the product of a conversion from a larger unit of measurement.

it's probably a conversion from a metric size.

Yes, that makes sense!

When I was in middle school in the late 70s, my school system created a metrics program to educate us so we would be ready for the
expected worldwide conversion! :orly:

Oh well, we tried, sort of...

11.2 Fluid ounces (US) = 331.224 mls, so that doesn't seem right.

Measurements that don't have a bunch of decimal places after it are:

11.2 Fluid ounces (US) = 1.4 Cups (US) / 0.7 Pints (US) / 0.35 Quarts (US)

So make of that what you want.

Yeah either can I, it's just that 11.2 converts to those measurements easily. I used a program called ESB Unit Conversion Utility. http://www.esbconsult.com/esbcalc/esbunitconv.htm

At first glance, I thought that link contained the word BISCUIT! Now I see it does not, but I'll check it out anyway.

Evidently 11.2 oz is a standard bottle size for the stubby shaped bottles

I still think it was my first idea, that they ordered 11oz bottles but later found out that they could fit an additional .2oz and added it.  They may have made this addition to use up the extra space to prevent the beer from having too much "slosh-around" space, or it could even be some Jamaican law requiring them to fill the bottle all the way up.
