How is a scooter any safer than a "crotch rocket" at the same speeds?

They aren't safer at the same speed, but a "crotch rocket" can go much faster than a scooter. You're pretty much limited to around 70mph at a real push on most scooters. Good motorbikes can go well over 100mph.

Unless it topples over you are much safer in a golf cart than a car. If you have a scooter that can go 70mph, you'll go at 70mph. If you have a "crotch rocket" that goes 140mph, you'll go at 140mph, and be more likely to kill yourself.
